I Am Google, I Know Everything

There is this famous line inspired by Google which is suited for people who have know-it-all attitudes. “Unless your name is Google, stop acting like you know everything”. Ha-ha. Google didn't just end up being a recognized english word in dictionaries, it has even managed to inspire quotations. Nice. Alright, kidding aside let us look into the creation of Google. Let us go back to the time when Google is not even a word. Let us start from its conception years, back to the time when web search seemed to take forever.

Google is the most widely used web-based search engine in the world. You search something, a term or word, a place, a person, an event, everything, Google gives you answers through a million plus search hit results. With its eight billion and still counting number of indexed web pages, Google is the number one search engine to date.

Google Founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin
Google began in 1996. It was the founders' Larry Page and Sergey Brin's research project at Stanford University. They both collaborated on a project called BackRub. It has operated within Stanford before they launched google.com. Google comes from a term used to describe the number 1 followed with one hundred zeros – googol. The term also describes the purpose of organizing an infinite amount of information and data on the world wide web.

Google supports more than fifteen languages around the globe and it has a lot of applications developed as years pass. Examples of which are Gmail, GoogleMaps, GoogleEarth and many more. Google now owns a lot of companies and is worth billions of dollars with a revenue of twenty plus billion annually. Now that's huge. Google has twenty six thousand plus employees to date.

Google is all powerful. It is the leader in the Internet world. It has made information available and easy to access by people worldwide. And it has definitely made our lives a lot easier.
